Home to over 260 cycles from an 1816 Hobby Horse, Victorian solid-tyred machines, classic lightweights to the latest carbon-fibre designs.

An Independent Charitable Trust whose aim is to promote interest in all aspects of cycling history. We encourage Group and School visits and hold annual Events in the UK. We have an Online Library with detailed historical data.

The Museum is the National Cycle Museum for the UK  and is one of the leading cycle museums in the world. It was officially opened on 21st March 1997 and was initially known as The National Cycle Exhibition.

We rely on the generosity of our visitors and supporters to finance the work of the museum, including new collections and outreach projects. If you would like to support the museum with a donation, please click here for further information

 

 NEWS

 The   museum is now open on Mondays  during July and August   - normally 10am-2pm   but may  extend  to 4pm  on  some Mondays     

Victorian Festival  21st -27th  August , museum opening - The   museum  will  be  open 10am-2pm on Monday 21st , 10am-5pm on Tuesday  22nd . 10am-4pm on Wednesday ,Friday , Saturday  and Sunday,  23rd , 25th, 26th and 27th  August     NB   CLOSED  Thursday  24th  August 

 New  bone china mugs  for sale  to  celebrate  200  years  of cycle history - £7.50  each  plus postage

 

 

WANTED - older cycle parts  and tools in good condition  , to  help raise funds  for the charity please

 

Group  visits  are  very  welcome during  normal  open hours , please  let  us know if  a coach  group

 Visits   can  also  usually  be arranged  for groups of 10+  in  evenings  or  at  weekends . Contact  us  for  availability  please 

 

 

Displays of cycles from the museum have featured at various important places and events,  including Hampton Court Palace, The Cycle Show, The Royal Welsh Show etc. The museum has also been shown on National TV.

Visit us and see some amazing displays that will impress you. Many cycling memorabilia items on display  e.g.  photos, club badges, silverware, jerseys, posters, lamps, signs, tools, maps, magazines  and a special Sturmey Archer exhibition.
