Advertising / Shop Bikes
Bicycles were often used to transport Traders wares and carried a panel mounted inside the frame tubes advertising the traders name.
One of the most commonly seen examples of this during the 1930s and 1050s was the Halfords "vanette" carrier bike.
This Company manufactured and distributed components for the motor trade. They also made bicycles and had a fleet of "Vanettes" to deliver their goods to customers.
With its step-through frame large front carrier rack and comfortable saddle they were used extensively throughout Britain.
